Restoration Work Begins on the Stone Bridge Overlook
This summer, the Trust began a multi-phase restoration of the Stone Bridge overlook, one of the most-visited vantage points on the battlefield. Decades of foot traffic and weather had worn the original trail markers and interpretive signage past the point of easy repair.
Working alongside the National Park Service, our preservation team is replacing eroded trail sections, restoring split-rail fencing to its historically accurate placement, and refreshing the interpretive panels visitors rely on to understand the ground beneath their feet.
The project is funded entirely through member and donor support. We expect the overlook to reopen to the public later this season, and we'll share progress updates here as the work continues.
