What We Do
“Since 2013 we have ensured that Manassas National Battlefield Park is widely recognized, valued, protected, and supported in its mission to preserve the sites of the First and Second Battles of Manassas forever.”
The Manassas Battlefield Trust is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization and the official philanthropic partner of Manassas National Battlefield Park. We work to preserve the battlefields unimpaired — for the education, inspiration, and enjoyment of generations who haven't discovered them yet.
We pursue that mission across five connected areas of work:
Community Engagement
Building a broad base of local support through events, outreach, and partnerships that connect people to the battlefield's story.
Hands-On Service Projects
Organizing volunteer work days for trail maintenance, fence restoration, and stewardship of the park's natural and historic resources.
Advocacy
Speaking up for the battlefield's protection when development, zoning, or policy decisions threaten the integrity of this hallowed ground.
Educational Programming
Supporting tours, lectures, and interpretive programs that help visitors understand what happened here and why it still matters.
Financial Sponsorship
Funding preservation, restoration, and interpretive projects the National Park Service could not otherwise undertake.
